Dear Roundup Elementary Parents: The Roundup PTSA is hosting a No Sales fundraiser!! This will be the only fundraiser of the year for PTSA. Students are going to bring home a calendar and an envelope. The students are asked to sell the days of the month to family, friends, neighbors, etc. Whatever day a person picks would be how much they have chosen to donate. People can pick more than one day if they want. For example- If they sell March 10th to someone that person would owe $10. Payment can be cash or check. Checks can be made out to Roundup PTSA. Every student that turns in a partial or full calendar will win a prize. Students that turn in full calendars will be entered into the “Grand Prize Drawing.” PTSA has a number of prizes to be given away including an IPAD!! Paperwork will go home with students on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 and is due Friday, March 19, 2021. Rick Griffith Roundup Elementary School Principal

At the regular school board meeting last night it was decided to cancel school this Thursday and Friday. The board and administration understand that this may cause some child care issues for families. However, the decision was made based on the number of staff members that were going to be gone for the State Basketball Tournament and the lack of availability of substitute teachers. The School District is always looking for substitute teachers and bus drivers so if you are interested please stop by the District Office for an application.

February 15 Roundup Public Schools Parents, Students, and Staff: Governor Gianforte announced on Friday, February 12th, the mandatory mask mandate was to be lifted in Montana. The specific guidance given to schools is to follow recommendations from the Office of Public Instruction and our local Central Montana Health Department guidelines. The Montana Department of Health and Human Services and Central Montana Health have provided the following contact tracing and quarantining guidelines specific to public schools: * If both the infected person and the close contact(s) were wearing masks AT ALL TIMES during the exposure period, asymptomatic close contact(s) would be exempt from home quarantine and would be allowed to participate in school with the following restrictions: ** Activities requiring removing masks should only be done when any person identified as a contact can socially distance themselves appropriately. Roundup Public Schools believes the above contact tracing and quarantine guidelines in conjunction with students and staff wearing face masks, will enable us to provide as much in-person direct instruction as possible with fewer quarantines. Therefore, Roundup Public Schools highly recommends all students, staff, and adults wear a mask in school buildings and on school provided transportation. Some classrooms and school buses will be required to wear masks because social distancing is not possible and because some are at high risk. Any further guidance from the Office of Public Instruction or Central Montana Health will be forwarded in a timely fashion. The Board of Trustees will again review Policy 1905 on Monday, March 8th at their regularly scheduled meeting.

4th, 5th and 6th Grade Boys Basketball Dear Parents: With our season coming to an end here are a couple of changes to the end of the schedule. We will have scheduled practices Thursday, December 3 and Friday, December 4. Monday, December 7 there will be no practice as elementary students do not have school because of teacher training. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 will be a normal practice from 3:30-5:00. Unfortunately, we were not able to schedule any games with other schools this year. There will be a scrimmage on Wednesday, December 9,2020 at 4:00 at the elementary gym for parents and siblings to come watch. We will start right at 4:00 with the fourth and fifth graders for about 30 minutes and then we will have 5th and 6th graders play from 4:30-5:00. We are required to follow Covid guidelines so families can sit together but need to social distance from other families in the bleachers. Masks will be required. The ZOOM meeting is web-based so although you do not need to add or download any apps or programs, you will need internet access and a compatible device (computer, tablet, phone) with camera and microphone functions. You may also simply use a phone to call in to the meeting and meet over the phone, the number will be in your invitation. If you would like to visit with your child’s teacher please follow the link below, click on the email for each teacher you would like to conference with, and send a request to be invited to meet. Your teacher will then invite you to a ZOOM meeting from November 2 from 1:00pm to 7:00pm. Your email will contain a link to the meet. Once in the meet you will be in a waiting room. When you child’s teacher is done with one parent he/she will connect with the next parent in line. So rather than waiting in the hall to visit a teacher you can wait from your comfortable couch or wherever you wish. Staff List Link: https://www.roundup.k12.mt.us/o/rsd/staff?filter=89000

Dear Roundup Elementary Parents: Roundup Elementary would like to thank all parents for being diligent about keeping sick students’ home and following the guidelines to keep our students safe. We are certainly progressing through a strange time and we thank you for persevering with us. Over the next couple of weeks there are quite of few happenings at the elementary. MEA Days are this Thursday, October 15th and Friday, October 16th. Students will be home on those two days. The end of the quarter is Friday, October 23rd. The following week is a four-day week and it will also be Red Ribbon Week. There will be dress up days for the week so watch for paperwork coming home so students can participate and win prizes. There is no school Friday, October 30th as that is district volleyball. Monday, November 2nd is Parent Teacher Conferences. We will not be able to have parents come to the elementary for conferences but the teaching staff will be contacting every parent to find out if they would like a virtual meeting with the teacher, a phone call, or an email message detailing each student's progress. Once again, we are thrilled that we are able to teach our students face to face and we thank you for your patience during these times. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call at 323-1512. Rick Griffith Roundup Elementary School Principal

Temporary Food Service changes Effective 09/08/2020 Roundup Schools has been approved to temporarily return to operating under the Summer Food Service program sponsored by the USDA. What this means for students: Effective September 8th – September 30th, all students that are actively enrolled in Roundup Schools will receive free breakfast and lunch meals. Extra milk and ala carte items, like chips and cookies, will still cost extra. Charges incurred prior to September 8th are still the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Again, this is a temporary exception so Free and Reduced meal applications still need to be completed and submitted to the school for when we return to the regular school lunch program.
