At the regular school board meeting last night it was decided to cancel school this Thursday and Friday. The board and administration understand that this may cause some child care issues for families. However, the decision was made based on the number of staff members that were going to be gone for the State Basketball Tournament and the lack of availability of substitute teachers. The School District is always looking for substitute teachers and bus drivers so if you are interested please stop by the District Office for an application.
Four awesome teachers have volunteered to chaperone a pep bus to this weekends State Tournament games! Students who would like to ride the bus will need to have their admission ticket in hand as well as money for meals. Students can sign up at the high school office Tuesday and Wednesday so we can get a solid count. The bus will leave Thursday morning at 7:30am and will return after the game is over. Thank you teachers for making this possible. Tickets are on sale online with a code exclusive to Roundup. The cost is $20 plus a $5 convenience fee for each ticket. Tickets will allow fans to attend Roundup games only.

February 15 Roundup Public Schools Parents, Students, and Staff: Governor Gianforte announced on Friday, February 12th, the mandatory mask mandate was to be lifted in Montana. The specific guidance given to schools is to follow recommendations from the Office of Public Instruction and our local Central Montana Health Department guidelines. The Montana Department of Health and Human Services and Central Montana Health have provided the following contact tracing and quarantining guidelines specific to public schools: * If both the infected person and the close contact(s) were wearing masks AT ALL TIMES during the exposure period, asymptomatic close contact(s) would be exempt from home quarantine and would be allowed to participate in school with the following restrictions: ** Activities requiring removing masks should only be done when any person identified as a contact can socially distance themselves appropriately. Roundup Public Schools believes the above contact tracing and quarantine guidelines in conjunction with students and staff wearing face masks, will enable us to provide as much in-person direct instruction as possible with fewer quarantines. Therefore, Roundup Public Schools highly recommends all students, staff, and adults wear a mask in school buildings and on school provided transportation. Some classrooms and school buses will be required to wear masks because social distancing is not possible and because some are at high risk. Any further guidance from the Office of Public Instruction or Central Montana Health will be forwarded in a timely fashion. The Board of Trustees will again review Policy 1905 on Monday, March 8th at their regularly scheduled meeting.

What this means for students: Effective September 8th – September 30th, all students that are actively enrolled in Roundup Schools will receive free breakfast and lunch meals. Extra milk and ala carte items, like chips and cookies, will still cost extra. Charges incurred prior to September 8th are still the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
