Roundup Public Schools would like to announce that we have hired Shawn Rasmussen as our new High School Music Teacher. Mr. Rasmussen recently graduated from Montana State University, Billings with a degree in Music Teaching Options. Mr. Rasmussen recently completed his student teaching experience in New Zealand. He also worked as a substitute music teacher in Billings.
Mr. Rasmussen’s college professor stated, “One story perfectly illustrates his initiative and tells who Shawn is… All on his own he decided that before he graduated, in addition to completing his required course work, he would present a concert of his original music. He composed the music (for a wind band plus strings), contacted and coordinated all the players (both fellow students and community members) rehearsed them, and presented an excellent concert of high-quality music. The skills exhibited that evening, both musical and organizational, were impressive.”
Roundup Public Schools is excited to bring Mr. Rasmussen’s talent and initiative to our music education program. Mr. Rasmussen will teach a variety of classes including 6th Grade Band, Junior High Band, High School Band, Junior High and High School Choir.
