This year we have had a change in our pickup order for bus students. The high school students are picked up first and then the buses travel to the elementary. For the safety of everyone we are asking parents to stand and wait in the grassy area and not on the sidewalk. We don't want anyone to get hit by the mirrors on the bus. Also, as the year progresses and our weather changes the bus could slide on the ice that is on the asphalt and sidewalk. Please don't walk between parked buses or between the buses as they arrive. Please use the crosswalk at the end of the sidewalk along 11th Street East. Thanks for helping us keep everyone safe!!
Parents of Roundup Elementary students the first day is off and running with lots of smiling faces!! A couple of reminders for parents: After today parents need to go in the main doors for any kind of school business. For safety concerns staff are allowed to enter through the east door with their badge but no one else. Tomorrow morning during student drop off students will have to go in the building by themselves. Also, parents are not allowed to use the bus drop off/pick up road. The road also serves as emergency access road. Please park on 11th street to drop off or pick up students. Thank you for your help in these matters.
It's going to be a great day for our XC meet! Races start today at 10:00 AM. If you're looking for something to do, come on out to Pine Ridge Golf Course and support your Roundup Panthers!

7th Grade Orientation Information
Dear Roundup Junior High School Students and Families,
On behalf of the Roundup Junior High School faculty and staff, we are excited that you will be joining us in the fall. It is normal to feel anxious when entering a new building, but I can assure you that you will be prepared for success and feel supported. An orientation will be held for seventh grade students and their families on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 in the Roundup High School gymnasium. At orientation, you will receive your schedule for the school year, meet your teachers, look around the building, and walk through your schedule. The doors will open at 6:15 pm for students to come in, find and put supplies in their locker. Please note that lockers do not come with a lock. Students can bring their own lock to put on their locker, but the combination or an extra key MUST be turned into the office. Students and parents are asked to be seated and ready for a small presentation at 6:45 p.m.in the gym. After the presentation, students and parents will get to do a “mock”day by walking through their schedule on a five minute period schedule. While visiting each teacher, you will meet your teachers and receive information about class expectations (including behavior, grading, and communication). After families have gone through all 8 periods, families will be dismissed for the evening to get ready for their first day of junior high!
We believe at RJHS that you should be given the opportunity to be successful. The faculty and staff will foster that environment by placing high expectations and standards. There is an excellent faculty that will care about and take the time to get to know your student. Please use them as part of your support system.
Communication is also important at RJHS. Please make sure you share any issues or concerns with your teachers, counselor or administrators before they become a major distraction to your education.
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Students will report directly to their assigned first period by 8:00 a.m.
In closing, let us again state that we are eager to welcome you to the junior high school. If you have any questions, please call 406-323-2402.
Sincerely yours,
Alicia Godfrey Jason Larson Riley Mayo
School Counselor Junior High Dean 7-12 Principal
